Already specialized in the production of heat through electricity, it was in the 1950s that the Lyon-based company specialized in the distribution of meals in hospitals.
 
Thanks to its innovative environment, the company has filed numerous patents that will change the way food is distributed in France and around the world: cold link, trays without handling or glycol water cooling have been developed by ELECTRO CALORIQUE and are now part of the standards in the sector.
 
Electro Calorique has been able to put proximity with its customers at the heart of its development, which has pushed the company to innovate ever more and to devise tailor-made solutions. We make it a point of honour to manufacture products that best respect our planet and its inhabitants. This requires the longevity of the products, the choice of materials and suppliers (80% are located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, very close to our production centres). Of course, we ensure the end of life of our products by recovering them from your establishments and recycling raw materials such as stainless steel, which is once again found in our future trolleys.     The company was founded. The company’s objective was to manufacture and sell innovative products in the field of heating technology.

    ELECTRO CALORIQUE AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION TROLLEYS

    The 1950s were a great success for ELECTRO CALORIQUE as the first heated meal transport trolley was developed for the distribution of meals in hospitals.

  • 1975

    FIRST TECHNOLOGICAL BREAKTHROUGH

    A food serving trolley with revolutionary technology has been developed for the hospital, especially for cooking and refrigeration: the ancestor of the current ERG’ELEC trolley.

  • YEAR 1990

    Conquering new markets

    Electro Calorique set up in Europe and created Electro Calorique GmbH in Herne, Germany. In France, the Châteldon subsidiary was also created.
